“Blue Collar's Habit Rouge”
SHULTON COMPANY : Old Spice
by Hauck (1938)
Originally launched as a period-correct women's oriental; didn't sell, so changed to be marketed towards men, where it succeeded as bay rum's successor. It was always quite cheap, and thus made it to the middle classes possible to travel (in their imagination) among the spice trade routes of yore.
Classic barbershop oriental; with added sage coolness in the opening. Then, rose, cinnamon and amber.
