“Silver Polish and Soap”

CARON : Narcisse Noir

by Daltroff (1911)

Art Deco perfume; an Heure Bleue that replaces the heliotrope by neroli. For sexually-repressed upper classes of the era; time-era correct perfume, for the proper women of that time.

Sunny orange blossom and jasmine (lots of indole) rendered animalic and brooding due to smoky incense. Orange blossom not fresh because musky base is evident right away.
