“The Male Bandit”

ARAMIS : Aramis

by Chant (1964)

First to marry fresh cologne notes with alpha male sweat. Launched by Lauder, made by Bernard Chant, worn by Martin Luther King. Named after one of Dumas' musketeers.

Stoic herbal leather chypre, lots of 'body odour' or 'cumin sweatiness'. Starts with hesperidic bergamot and galbanum (and sweet aromatic sage); then leads over to herbed jasmine. It really has a lot of galbanum; I don't think it's particularly leathery, rather floral powdered patchouli; with aldehydic sparks. Not too far from PIGUET: Bandit (1944), actually.
